‘Tis the season for holiday cheer! Join Fanshawe Pioneer Village for an outdoor Christmas Market in the Village. Decorations will be hung round the Village with care, and you know St. Nicholas is sure to be there! A Christmas tree lot, outdoor activities, vendors, and villagers will come together to create the Christmas market we see each year in the movies we all secretly love.

Tickets are $5 per person, children 3 and under are free and do not require a ticket. Advance purchase highly recommended.  Once tickets are gone, they are gone!

The Royal Scots Grenadiers will be visiting the Village on Sunday, August 30th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

11:30: Musket Inspection
12:00: Flag Raising
Manual of Arms and Firing Display throughout the afternoon.

A Visit with St. Nicholas

Join St. Nicholas for pancakes and sausage, and take a beautiful winter horse-drawn wagon ride around the Village! Breakfast includes 3 pancakes and 2 sausage and visitors can help themselves to orange juice, coffee, and tea, with a gingerbread cookie for dessert.

A select number of buildings will be open and will have activities for visitors to participate in.

Sittings offered at 9:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and 1:00 p.m. each day.

The Christmas Truce of 1914

In 1914, a brief, unofficial, truce took place at Christmas along parts of the Western Front. Soldiers from opposing sides came together to mark the season as strains of Silent Night echoed in the dark. Experience a WWI Christmas Story as you embark by foot on a journey through time to experience a significant moment in history at our replica trench.

The Halloween Haunt: Danger from the Dead

Something seems to be going awry in the Village of Fanshawe. None of the villagers can explain it– not even the doctor.

Will you make it out intact?

Be sure to purchase tickets in advance for this sell-out halloween, ghost walk style, event and arrive 15 minutes prior to your performance.

Shows begin at 7:00 p.m., 8:00 p.m., and 9:00 p.m. each night , and 10:00 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays, as well as October 27th and 30th.

Thanksgiving Dinner

Join us at the Pioneer Village Cafe for Thanksgiving Dinner on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, October 12, 13, and 14, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. each day.

Thanksgiving Dinner features homemade soup, roast turkey and stuffing, mashed potatoes, root vegetables and fresh pies.

Finding things to keep the family entertained during the Thanksgiving long weekend can be a challenge! Get everyone out of the house and enjoy the lovely fall weather at Fanshawe Pioneer Village. Stroll through the Historic Village, sample apple cider (while supplies last), grind corn to help feed the chickens, and discover how families preserved fresh fruit and vegetables to make them last through the long winter.

Thanksgiving Day will be the last day Fanshawe Pioneer Village is open for the regular public programming season, join us from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

A Day for the Dogs

Bring your four legged family members to meet dog groomers, rescue organizations and local services for your pet. Vendors will showcase a variety of doggy toys, fashion, food and more!

Demonstrations by Crusin’ Paws Agility will be hosted throughout the day.

Lure course by Run Spot Run (extra cost).

Fanshawe Pioneer Village is celebrating our 60th anniversary during 2019! Discover the history of the Village as you visit. Try to complete our Anniversary Challenge, and help us recreate photos from our past! Design your own pioneer village, recreate the village at different points in time using our mini-buildings, and work together to build a giant Lincoln Log House.

During Doors Open London Fanshawe Pioneer Village will be closing at 4:00 p.m. each day.
